WWF Belgium wishes to develop an active high-profile network (Ambassadors and Major Donors) strongly committed to the protection of nature and the fight against climate change. The objective of this network is to raise our capacity to finance high-impact nature conservation programs and to raise the visibility of our cause among decision makers.

WWF Belgium is looking for a Philanthropy Officer to help expanding its high-profile network mainly in the Flemish region, to strengthen the stewardship of Ambassadors and Major Donors and ultimately to raise their support to our causes.

The Philanthropy Officer is part of a team of two, in charge of the high-profile network program and its implementation, mainly in the Flemish region, in close collaboration with the CEO. The program includes prospecting for new Ambassadors and Major Donors, organizing events (conferences, field trips, receptions, philanthropy dinners, etc.), developing ad-hoc communication materials (newsletters, brochures, etc.), maintaining personal relations with the Ambassadors and Major Donors (face-to-face meetings, calls, personalized letters, etc).

The Philanthropy Officer will help to raise the level of awareness and engagement amongst our high-profile network as well as the level of fundings for our conservation programs.

Your role

*Administration: maintaining a database of all the contacts within this target group, keep track of meetings and calls, etc.
*Carrying out prospecting activities to expand the network of high-profile contacts: identifying and analyzing new prospects profiles, their motivations and center of interests; meeting with candidates and advising on the nature of their support to WWF’s missions, etc.
*Producing meaningful communication supports to inspire and engage the high-profile network (CEO’s newsletter, specific brochures, presentations…)
*Developing and organizing a program of engaging events that will meet the high-level standards expectations (annual reception, on-site presentations with our CEO, public lectures & conferences…; providing support to lunches, dinners and conferences given by the CEO; field trips; etc.).
*Nurturing the relationships with major donors: keeping personal contact with existing donors; providing all major donors with exceptional stewardship, timely and quality reporting of the funding, or the support provided, and the impact achieved; presenting compelling cases to support projects to encouraging financial support or in-kind gifts; regularly assessing the donor’s satisfaction and adapting your approach accordingly; etc.

*Excellent at building long-lasting relationships.
*Passionate by our mission.
*Your Experience and Qualifications

*Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent.
*Experience in engaging with high-profile contacts.
*Fluent in Dutch, both oral and written, with a good command of French and English.
*Communication, PR or Event management background desirable.
*Driving license.
*Having an existing network among the cultural sector, companies, philanthropy, private banking, etc. is a plus.
