Influencer marketing in banking and insurance: Balancing impact and regulation

How can you harness the potential of influencer marketing in a sector as heavily regulated as banking and insurance? On 9 December, UBA is bringing together advertisers from the financial sector for an Exchange Community Content session dedicated to the opportunities, challenges and best practices of influencer marketing.

French Dutch English Exchange Community

Introduction

Influencers are playing an increasingly important role in consumers' financial decisions. According to an FSMA study, 3 in 10 young people say that (f)influencers have influenced at least one of their financial or investment decisions.

For banks and insurers, influencer marketing offers opportunities to reach new audiences, strengthen trust and create engagement. However, the sector must navigate two regulatory frameworks: one governing financial communications and the other governing influencer marketing.

How can impact, creativity and compliance be combined? How can effective collaborations with content creators be developed while respecting sector-specific rules?

This session will combine expert keynotes with discussions between advertisers to compare experiences, share concrete cases and explore best practices within the sector.

Confirmed keynotes:

  • Banking 2027: From algorithms to ambassadors – the new currency of financial trust, with Beinfluence: Véronique Cox and Truus Heremans.
  • Influencer marketing and compliance in banking & insurance, with Adastone: Katrien Maris and Hannah Tacheny.

Additional speakers will be announced soon.

Why attend?

  • Explore the potential of influencer marketing for brands in the banking and insurance sector.
  • Discuss regulatory challenges and best practices for combining impact and compliance.
  • Share experiences with fellow advertisers and draw inspiration from approaches and concrete cases within the sector.
