Effie Awards 2025: the winners are announced
Last night, the winners of the Effie Awards 2025 were revealed. This year, the organisers honoured 26 outstanding cases, all contributing to “creating ideas that work.”
Two campaigns received a Gold award, a recognition for brands that stand out through their strategy and creativity.
An exceptionally strong year
The 35 finalists of this edition all submitted impressive entries. The high number of winners underlines the quality: 26 Effies in total — 2 Gold, 13 Silver and 11 Bronze.
As always in Belgium, the bar was set very high. The jury members highlighted the solid structure of the cases and the convincing, data-backed results.
Gold for Mobile Vikings and Foodbag
Mobile Vikings (Sustained Success category) and Foodbag (Brand Image Campaign category) received the highest recognition.
Mobile Vikings: from rebellious teenager to mature brand
Thanks to a well-considered brand strategy, a smart media mix and creative content, Mobile Vikings has evolved into a mature brand with sustainable business growth, stronger brand consideration and higher customer value. An inspiring proof that challengers can grow not only quickly, but also sustainably.
Foodbag: a case to be proud of
Going against the market trend, Foodbag launched an ambitious growth plan and took on the undisputed market leader Hello Fresh. With sharp consumer insights, a strong positioning as a Belgian premium alternative, and the strategy “Satisfaction retains, but pride drives growth” — executed through so-called “humblebragging” — Foodbag exceeded all its KPIs. By the end of 2024, growth was so strong that maximum production capacity had been reached.
Silver & Bronze
Silver went to: Recupel, MyFamily, Magnesium EG OPTI, Delhaize, Win for Life, Bolero, SPA, Knack, Walibi, ING, Albert Heijn, Quick and Defence.
Bronze was awarded to: Telenet, Helpline 1712, De Warmste Week, Argenta, HIPRO, STIB-MIVB, BASE, BelOrta, E5, Polestar and Carrefour.
A jury with vision
The 40-member jury, chaired for the final time by Aude Mayence, selected 35 finalists and rewarded 26 winners. During the ceremony at the Proximus Lounge in Evere, awards were presented to advertisers and agencies that demonstrated that effectiveness and creativity go hand in hand.
An edition to be proud of
The Effie Awards 2025 once again confirm the exceptional level of the Belgian marketing community. Each case, from finalists to winners, contributes to the advancement of our profession.
